Counseling Begins Day One
Key Features of Our College Counseling Program
At Whitefield, college counseling is not an afterthought; it is an intentional, four-year journey that begins before students enter ninth grade. Through personalized guidance and a thoughtfully designed progression of programming, our College Counseling Office equips students and families with the insight, tools, and confidence to navigate the college admissions process with purpose and clarity.
Our Signature Vocare Program
Whitefield’s Vocare program is a counselor-led experience for juniors designed to help them discover their unique, God-given, gifts, interests, and values before beginning the college application process. Through intentional assessments, guided reflection, and goal setting, students gain clarity about and reflect on God’s calling for their future. The program also includes in career roundtables in the spring, where professionals and alumni share real-world insights on careers and college paths in small-group settings.
Individualized Academic Coaching
Whitefield is committed to working with students and families to determine a course progression throughout Upper School that helps students achieve their academic goals for Whitefield Academy and beyond. The academic coach works closely with each student’s teachers to formulate a course progression that best fits the student’s unique, God-given talents and interests, fulfills graduation requirements, and prepares the student for college.
Comprehensive College Application & Essay Writing Support
Seniors have an opportunity to participate in an in-depth College Application Seminar paired as well as a dedicated Essay Writing Course, providing step-by-step guidance on every aspect of the application process, from building a strong college list to crafting compelling personal statements.
Over 70 Colleges and Universities Visit Our Campus Each Year
Events are hosted on campus each fall, giving students direct access to admissions representatives.

For many students, the college application process is the first time they face significant life decisions. Having worked in College Admissions and College Counseling for over a decade, I have found Whitefield to offer the most genuine approach to a student’s college search. While the goal is to help students find their “best fit college,” it goes beyond that. We know that at the center of this experience is our Creator, who has called each student for an individual purpose. While determining your life’s purpose is a journey of its own, we encourage students to lean into how God created them and what that means for the future he is calling them into.
